A trip to the market can always prove to be interesting you never know what you will find and sometimes you just don't know what it is that you have found. During the weekly veggie shop we ran across this interesting specimen.
When we asked the vendor what it was, they looked at us a little strange and said a cucumber (of course). Indeed! It looks a little medieval and dangerous.
This week at the market we also ran across a treat that we discovered when we were living in the lowlands. A soursop! It also looks a little dangerous, but turns out it can be a tasty treat, if you can get past the texture!

Eating soursop is a little bit like eating slimy cotton balls, however with a nice flavour. Fortunately I discovered a way to get rid of the texture issue. I squeeze the juices out of the pulp, then it is a little like the texture of apple sauce. Next the best part is turning it into home made ice-cream! Giving Ben & Jerry's a run for their money!
